  • Prepare the patties: Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion into thin rounds about 4–5 inches wide. Add the cheese: Place a cube of cheddar in the center of 4 patties. Top each with another patty and firmly pinch the edges together to seal the cheese inside completely. (Make sure there are no gaps — or the cheese may leak out when cooking!) Season and shape: Lightly season both sides with salt
